Palio Winter Games! (Ice Skating event) – CANCELED

Due to large amounts of snow, this event has been canceled.

Save the Date: Sunday, February 26th • 1:45pm to 4:00pm

The annual ice skating event is returning to Lake of the Isles, and this year, we’re ready to compete! The tradition of a friendly neighborhood rivalry between the Lowry Hill Green Turtles, East Isles Blue Raccoons, and Kenwood Red Egrets, which has been celebrated for three decades, continues this January with the Palio Winter Games.

Dress up, Gather, March, and Win.

Join us as we don our neighborhood color (green) and march, as a team, to the site of the games: the Lake of the Isles warming house. Our meeting place for the neighborhood parade is St. Paul’s Church on Lake of the Isles (1917 Logan Ave S). With loud cheers and bright green flair, we’ll aim to impress the judges and win the Parade Award! Then, let the skating begin. Figure skaters from each neighborhood will open the program, followed by pick-up hockey and open skating. Skates will be available for rental and lessons are free.

Bundle up, but be sure to add plenty of green – hats, mittens, scarves, sweaters, jackets, tuxedos, turtle costumes, whatever you have!  Come skate with your neighbors and friends and show off that quadruple axel you’ve been hiding. Not ready to try out your sea legs on the lake? Stay lakeside for bonfires, snacks, warm drinks, an ARTrageous creation station, and lively conversation. Fun for all ages!
