LHNA has five standing committees: Community & Outreach, Crime & Safety, Environment, Events , and Zoning & Planning. A brief summary of the committees can be found below:
This communications committee oversees all communication between the Lowry Hill Board and the residents of Lowry Hill. It manages the website, print communications, surveys, and plans LHNA events.
The Crime & Safety committee works to keep our neighborhood safe for all residents. It communicates crime alerts, works to develop programs that promote safety, and recruits block club leaders.
The Environment committee works closely with the Minneapolis Park Board and promotes and works to keep Lowry Hill green. Trees, parks, and green space in general are important to residents. The committee most recently helped to put floating islands at Brownie Lake to help clean up the water.
The events committee helps coordinate events like the Ice Cream Social and the annual meeting.
The Zoning & Planning committee reviews zoning-related applications and recommends action to the board, monitors development plans of the city, park board, and developers, and takes a proactive approach towards zoning issues in the neighborhood.
